If you are wondering what to do in Alicante during Easter holidays, we bring you the answers. The holidays have come and it’s to time spend with our loved ones. Traditionally these days are to meet with family and friends, but there are times when we want to make different and less original plans, that means not always going to the country or to a friend’s house to eat etc. We have nothing against these plans, but we must recognize that sometimes we need more exciting and unusual activities.
#1 Enjoy the beach
Now that the good weather is approaching, Easter week may be the perfect occasion to step on the beach for the first time this year. Alicante has more than two hundred kilometers of coastline. If you go to the same beach every summer, it’s time to change. You can choose one of the many beaches and coves that form the Costa Blanca and, incidentally, visit the municipality in which it is located.
The plan we propose is to go at noon, take a walk around the town or city to meet him, eat (either on the beach or in a restaurant) and rest in the sand enjoying the sun, the sea breeze and, if you are brave, maybe even take a dip!
#2 Visit Tabarca
Now that little by little the cold seems to disappear, it’s time to visit Tabarca if you have never done it before. And if you have already done it, you will not regret going back. Easter is a good time to go to the island, since it is not yet peak season, so there may not be many visitors.
The cobblestone streets, the San José Tower, the museum, the lighthouse, the white houses and the crystal clear waters are waiting for you. It is best to get lost and enjoy the island.
#3 Discover the caves of Canelobre
The Cuevas del Canelobre are one of the main tourist attractions in the province of Alicante for its caves of more than 80,000 m2. You can access them through a tunnel that crosses them and allows you to enjoy its stalactites, stalagmites, columns and jellyfish.
Without a doubt, the Canelobre Caves are a good option to make rural trip with the family and awaken interest in nature in the little ones.
#4 Spend the day at an amusement park
Visiting an amusement park is our fourth proposal for Easter week in Alicante. It is a perfect alternative if you spend this vacation with children. Adventure theme-parks, merry-go-rounds, roller coasters etc. are a valid option for all ages. But you can also choose between animals or water. It depends on your tastes, since you have several options to choose from.
If you prefer emotion but you do not have a whole day, you can dare with the Escape Room. They are adventure games in which players are locked in a room, where they must escape before the time is up solving all kinds of puzzles. It is really an exciting option that also adapts to the tastes of each one, since there are many thematic ones. As an example, in Alicante you can find Escape Room with jails, haunted houses or wars.
#4 See the acts of Easter Week
what would be an activity guide for Easter Week without the processions? During the week, from Palm Sunday (April 14) to Sunday of Resurrection (April 21), numerous processions will tour the streets, neighborhoods and squares throughout the cities and towns.
But in addition, Easter in Alicante is also synonymous with the various events that prepare the arrival of festivals, such as concerts, exhibitions or trials with the thrones, which give way to the solemn celebration with the proclamation that takes place in the church of San Nicolás.
